Delhi Police Action Against Cabs for Ignoring Women Safety

Delhi Police have booked 50 cabbies under section 188 of the IPC for ignoring the safety of women in south Delhi areas, including Greater Kailash, and Safdurjung Enclave.

Districts like the south and south-east, which have the maximum number of hotels, pubs and bars etc and are connected to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, are witnessing guideline violations by drivers almost every day.

Going ahead from traditional policing, south-east police have upgraded their ground staff technically by uploading a special internal mobile app.

By using this app, district police have scrutinized almost 2,500 cabbies roaming the streets of South Delhi in two months.

Youth Falls to Death in Dwarka Hostel

crime IP UniversityA 27-year-old Mass Communication student fell to his death from the seventh floor of a hostel in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area here last night.
While the police claimed that the deceased, identified as Mohit Joshi fell accidentally after consuming liquor with his friends while celebrating India’s victory over Bangladesh in the World Cup quarterfinals, his family suspected foul play. Joshi hailed from Haldwani in Uttarakhand. He was a first year student of mass communication in Indra Prastha University and was staying in Aravali hostel at Dwarka Sector-16.

CISF personnel avert two suicide attempts at Delhi Metro

Officials said the first incident occurred on Friday afternoon when Central Industrial Security Force constable S Mandal noticed a women sitting at the end of the platform at Tagore Garden Metro station in an apparent distressed composure.
A similar incident occurred at Huda City Centre Metro station on Thursday when vigilant CISF personnel timely removed a lady commuter from the railway tracks.

Fifteen-year-old girl rescued from brothel in Delhi

A 15-year-old girl from Tumakuru district was rescued by the Delhi police after she escaped from a brothel. The Tumakuru police have arrested three persons in connection with the case. Addressing a press conference here on Friday afternoon, Superintendent of Police Karthik Reddy said that Delhi police had informed them about the girl. The Tumakuru police handed her over to her parents.

Asha (35) of Heggare in Tumakuru taluk, Yashoda (50) of Bukapatna village in Koratagere taluk and Narasimharaju(52) of Koratagere in Tumakuru district, have been arrested. Yashoda and Narasimharaju took the girl to Delhi a month ago, saying she would employed as domestic help there.

They allegedly sold her to a brothel in Delhi. She was in the brothel for a month and managed to escape and contact the Delhi police.
