Motor Vehicles Theft on all time high in New Delhi

Sadly, New Delhi is crossing all limits in cases of Motor Vehicles Theft. Everyday hundreds of vehicles get stolen in New Delhi.

Over past few years, there has been a huge upsurge in number of vehicles getting stolen with this years’ data being the highest ever. As per the official data of Delhi Police, in 2013 the number of cases of motor vehicles theft was 14,916 which increased to 23,384 in the nest year 2014. With a substantial rise, the number of cases of motor vehicles theft reached upto 32, 729. This year 2016 (upto 15th November) the number of cases of motor vehicles theft has been the highest ever and the figure has already reached an all time high of 33,529.

These figures are really worrisome. As per other data, number of Royal Enfield Bullets stolen has been particularly higher than other vehicles. Delhi Police claims to be taking every possible step to stop theft of motor vehicles. Various units of Delhi Police are also working tirelessly and we get news of auto lifters being arrested every now and then. Delhi Police has also made reporting of Stolen Motor Vehicles a lot easier with its e-fir initiative where anyone can log on to Delhi Police official website and register his/her FIR without having to visit the Police Station.
